Model Photography (Mackay Family Portrait Photographer)
It’s been a while since we have managed to update our blog, our apologies, we have just been busy – which is good (…. and bad!)…. These images are from our recent shoot with Bec, one of the calendar models for Crave magazine, published by the Daily Mercury in Mackay. This is a follow up shoot for her model portfolio, and we’ll have more photographs available soon, so make sure that you come back, or subscribe to our blog here. I’ll start off with something a little out of the ordinary with an ‘Ophelia’ look:

Bec brought some beautiful fashion – her dress could be for a wedding, it is stunning in flow and design, and the soft silky fabric really caught the breeze and sunlight here in Queens Park, in Mackay.

It was just great meeting up and working with Bec again after the Crave magazine calendar shoot we did last November, and we can’t wait until the next time, the weather in Mackay due to cyclones and pouring rain has not been fabulous for location photography.

You can see more of Bec in the Daily Mercury’s Crave magazine calendar, which is available in newagencies throughout the Whitsunday area, and the models do have signing days so that you can meet ‘n greet with them and the girls will autograph your favourite month – maybe a birthday idea for a good mate of yours, they’d really appreciate it! Bec models 'boudoir' fashion - an idea for brides to be in Mackay
Many of our clients have mentioned to us that they ‘always wanted to be a model’ – or to have a chance. Modelling is really hard work, and I mean, hard work. Early mornings, bright lights and more than often uncomfortable locations – a photo shoot at Brampton Island with all expenses paid sounds fabulous – until the make up artists raise you out of sleep at dawn and the sunshine has turned to sun-showers…. and then some nutcase photographer (…. who, me?) asks that you smile as you stand in ridiculously high heels in the sinking sand. But, it’s not all bad.

Model Maria Eriksson – Crave Magazine (Mackay Portrait Photographer)
From the chilly shores of Britain, a recent visitor to Mackay in the Whitsundays and our studio was the beautiful Maria Eriksson – voted as one of American Playboy magazine’s top 100 ‘sexiest women’. Maria made a terrific covergirl for this month’s January edition of Crave magazine which we photographed in and around the vast array of great locations here – the canefields of Habana, the sands of Lamberts Beach at Slade Point and the new Bluewater Quay near Forgan Bridge in the heart of Mackay, just to name a few tourist spots.
We’ve been wanting to shoot with Maria for ages now – she gives that extra ‘sparkle of magic’ in images, and from her photographs with some great fashion and style photographers whose work we really admire, such as Paul Cox and John Tisbury – just by chance her flight schedules and her recent work in Singapore for FHM magazine allowed us all the moment to grab some time here after a long wait – and the time shooting with Maria fitted in very nicely with our boudoir photography – celebrate your curves and love the skin you are in!

Fingers crossed, Maria is coming back to visit us again in late February or March, 2011, with time permitting we’ll also have time for a modelling course and a photo course – ideal for anyone learning a camera or catwalk. Maria Eriksson visits Mackay
Crave Magazine Calendar 2011 (Mackay Portrait Photographer)
The ‘Miss Crave 2011′ calendar, published by the Daily Mercury, is now available throughout Mackay and the Whitsunday area featuring photography by Just One Moment.
The ‘calendar girls’ all faced tough competition in local heats held locally in Mackay and were lucky enough to win several great prizes – one of them being a special photoshoot with us to either further their modelling portfolios or just to have some great photographs for themselves. We’ll feature their fashion shoots here soon. Mackay and the Whitsundays possess so many wonderful locations for photography – from the expanse of the tropical forests and sun kissed golden sands of the Barrier Reef, to more ‘funky’ places in the great art deco buildings that Mackay is renowned for.

The photo shoot for the calendar was created in Brampton Island, just off the coast of Mackay in the Whitsundays over two days – and it’s also a place where we have made beautiful wedding photography with the island as a backdrop for many couples. Looking after all of the girls with stunning make up, beauty and hair styling creations was Chloe and Lisa from Gina T’s salon in Mackay.

As part of the judging process, all of the girls had to feature their talents with fashion, public speaking and a ‘sports routine’ in front of public audiences, so it’s a great credit to them all – each of them wonderful representitives for Mackay itself. For the calendar shoot though, and on the island – what else could they have chosen to wear but bikinis and glamorous swimwear?

From the 12 beautiful girls who won their place in the Crave calendar, unfortunately there can be only one ‘Winner’ and Tanika was chosen by the judging panel to be crowned ‘Miss Crave 2011′ and she will be representing Crave magazine’s special events throughout the year ahead – of course with help from all of the other fantastic finalists!
